Don't Tread On Me #8- the Last Bite Of The Elephant...

Remember when you were a little kid screwin' around on the school playground with your pals? Recall  Elephant Jokes and how hilarious we thought they were? Yes sir they were right up there in hilarity with Sir Walter Raleigh in a Can  and the ever popular .....
Is your Refrigerator Running? Remember? Sure you do......it's short term memory that goes first ! Do you recall this one....
"How do you eat an elephant?"
Answer: "one bite at a time!!".....yuk yuk yuk yuk.....
One can draw an analogy between eating an elephant and removing the teak decks and replacing the non-skid a 28 foot sailboat.....you can't do it all at once....it's too overwhelming a process to do single handed.
You approach it a bite at a time.
After removing all the teak decking and filling about 1000 screw holes with epoxy resin and spending months cleaning the 35 year old caulk and crud and dead bugs out of the factory molded, perfectly good underlying non-skid deck and sanding and scraping and scrubbing,
FINALLY !!!! the last bite of my metaphorical elephant .......the starboard side deck!!!  We have had some very nice weather here lately and the job has progressed at warp speed.....with good weather this final section will take three days to complete ...........
DAY 1
Got my weapons ready for battle...!

Cruddy old caulk

This hole is for the Holding Tank pump out fitting....

Ready for scrubbing...
Cleaned and ready for two coats of primer......

Day 2.........

Two coats primer and one coat non-skid.......

Day 3......
Last two coats of non-skid........the elephant has been consumed...!!

Whooo-Wheee ....it's done!!!

Take care my friends....peace to you all
