"We're Burnin' Daylight" ........John Wayne from movie 'The Cowboys'

As I sit here trying to put a halfway coherent blog entry together, it dawns on me that I have no job, no income, no house, no furniture, no real clothes, no pets, no shoes other than flip flops and an old beat up pair of black Chucks, no real estate, no possessions except  boat stuff, a DELL laptop, a Kindle Fire,  a 12 year old F-150 with 265,000 miles on it, and ZOSHA..... my         1978....PAID FOR Westsail 28......

Whoo Hoo my friends....you are looking at a happy man!......Yeah Buddy!!!!
Its finally time to quit screwin' around and get ZOSHA ready and leave for Florida, Bahamas, and, possibly, the Caribe.......

Before the journey can begin, like all cruising endeavors, there are a few things that need to be done to ZOSHA to get her ready for the journey. My intent for the next few blogs is to take you guys along on the projects that need to be done before we can leave. These projects are all relatively minor things except one which could be a royal PIA to fix.....Oh oh I'm getting ahead of myself......

Deadlines and time tables make me nervous but I am going to stick my neck out here and say that we are going to leave Galveston in August 2014 which BTW is the beginning of prime hurricane season for the Gulf Coast and head offshore for a couple days to Port Isabel, Texas and spend the rest of hurricane season tied up there. While there we are going to drop the mast, strip it, clean it, prime it, paint it, rewire it and install new VHF antenna,
nav (tri color), spreader, foredeck, steaming, and anchor lights and any new hardware as necessary......after that we'll sit till hurricane season is over and a weather window develops that will let us get to Florida safely.

Until next time.....take care my friends.......

Westsail 28 Tour #4- Salon

You all probably thought that I forgot to post this last, promised, segment of the tour through ZOSHA....well, here it is......later than sooner but nevertheless it's here and ready for you guys to take a peek..........
Large U-shaped dinette with both fore and aft access.....

From this position, one is looking aft towards the companionway. The the dark spot where the bottom cushions meet is a shadow....there are no stains on the fabric.....

Alot of storage space behind the settee......

Main electrical panel and battery monitoring instruments and battery switch in secure cabinet on aft settee bulkhead.....

Another shot of the electrical stuff.....

Large storage bin underneath the cabinet that contains the electrical monitoring stuff.....I put the doors back in the cabinet front...

Whoever first ordered this boat from Westsail spared no expense ....lookatthis custom storage shelf...the electrical device on top is a Heart Interface battery monitor....

Tons of storage behind settee back.....

With the settee back up, this bed is what they call in Mexico.....
La Matrimonial

The boat can sleep 5 comfortably with the dinette converted into a berth
.....
This is a shot of the dinette berth with the settee back down.....a nice sized double.....

Another shot of the opposite end of the berth with the settee back down.... nice and comfy!! .....

Very large ice box under forward dinette cushion.....

This will hold a ton-o-beer....

Well my friends this is the end of the tour of ZOSHA'S interior...
hope that you enjoyed the visit.

Take care my friends.....
